A modern industrial facility whose cost is  estimated at 10 million pounds. A new incinerator has also been installed and operated to dispose of medical waste in the university hospital, with an estimated cost of 7 million pounds.  And that the opening of the intensive care unit is a new addition to the university hospital’s patients service, which includes 75 intensive care units, and with the opening of this unit, the total intensive care unit in the university hospital reaches 85 care and intensive care units to serve the people of Aswan Governorate and the neighboring governorates. For his part, Dr. Moez Al-Shuhdy, CEO of the Egyptian Shifa Bank, said that the Egyptian Shifa Bank has been working for ten years to provide a system of free health care for citizens who are unable to bear the cost of treatment from members of the Egyptian community through our experiences in the field of charitable and health work, and our strong and lasting partnerships with Entities concerned with providing health service from governmental and university hospitals. Dr. Muhammad Zaki Dahshouri, Dean of the College of Medicine, indicated that the intensive care unit is an essential component of any Aswan University Hospital. Dr. Ashraf Maabed, Executive Director of University Hospitals in Aswan, explained that the University Hospital is working to receive all sick cases from Aswan Governorate and the neighboring governorates, and the hospital administration seeks to provide the medical service that befits Aswan’s children, and the unit is a new breakthrough that is added to the total care of the University Hospital in Aswan.
