IT Egypt 101 Train of Trainers Course Announcement

Information Technology Institute in cooperation with Aswan University and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport announces a training course  “IT Egypt 101 Train of Trainers” . The course aims at supporting the Egyptian universities efforts in adding a variety of topics in the computer courses delivered to their students. It’s a free course Registration is available for the academic staff of Aswan university or AASTMT, Aswan branch. 45-hour course. Course Date: 24 Jan. to 4 Feb. 2021. Conclusion of Aswan University Book Fair

Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab inspected the conclusion of the University’s Book Fair 24th Dec. to 31st Dec. 2020 which was held in the faculty of agriculture. He was accompanied by the vice president of graduate studies and research Prof. Ayman Othman and the director general of Aswan culture branch Ms. Nagwa Ahmed Al Sayed, Prof. Ghallab said that the last day of the fair witnessed considerable participation from the students, the academic staff and the outside society’s members to buy different books. This year the book fair included 20  publishing houses and 150 titles in the different fields. He added that the book prices are handy. It should be noted that the fair’s opening was witnessed by the minister of culture Dr. Enas Abd Al Dayem, Aswan governer Maj. Gen. Ashraf Ateya, Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab and the president of the general authority of culture palaces Dr. Ahmed Awwad.

Aswan University President Receives the Former Minister of Antiquities

 Today corresponding to 3rd Jan. 2020, Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab received the previous minister of antiquities and the head of antiquities sector Prof. Mamdouh Al Damaty in Aswan university headquarters at Sahary City. Prof. Ghallab said that the visit aimed at enhancing the technical support and inspecting the faculty of archaeology preparing for opening graduate studies in the faculty. The meeting was attended by the vice president of graduate studies and research Prof. Ayman Othman, the dean of the faculty of archaeology in Luxor and the member of antiquities committee in the Supreme Council of Universities Prof. Badawy Ismaeil, the dean of Aswan university faculty of archaeology Dr, Ghareeb Mahmoud Taha and the faculty vice dean Dr. Omar Abu Zeid. On the sideline of the visit Prof. Ghallab gave Dr. Al Damaty the University Shield and Medal for his efforts in the field of antiquities.

Prof. Ghallab: No Validity of Study Postponement

After the Supreme Council of Universities’ session that was held on Saturday in Al Fayoum University in the presence of the ministers of education and technical education, the universities’ presidents and the SCU secretary headed by the minister of higher education and scientific research Prof. Khaled Abd Al Ghaffar, Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab confirmed that study in Aswan University is continuing and no truth of what was circulating that the study will be postponed. The university is abiding by all the precautionary measures for facing COVID-19, the first semester exams 2020/2021 will be held as what was scheduled according to the ministry of higher education’s and the Supreme Council of Universities’ instructions. Prof. Ghallab added that the University is committed to applying the hybrid education system that was adopted by the SCU and the ministry of higher education.

Prof. Ghallab Signs an Academic Cooperation Protocol with the Faculty of Agriculture, Assiut University

Today corresponding to 18th December 2020, Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab signed a mutual cooperation protocol between the faculties of agriculture and natural resources of the universities of Aswan and Assiut in several areas. The protocol was signed by Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab and the dean of the faculty of agriculture and natural resources, Assiut University Prof. Mohamed Hamam Zein Al Aabdeen. The event was witnessed by the vice president of graduate studies and research Prof. Ayman Othman, the dean of Aswan university faculty of agriculture Prof. Yasser Abd Al Hameed as well as a selected group of the two parts’ academic staff. In the same context, Prof. Ghallab stressed on the importance of this protocol which included several points among which scientific experiences and research projects exchange in the field of agriculture, animal production, and modern irrigation system for deepening the benefit from scientific and research experiences in the field of agricultural expansion in Aswan governorate and the national projects that gain a great deal of concern by the Egyptian State for increasing agriculture crops in Toshka.

Aswan University’s Playgrounds Complex Hosts Egyptian Universities Sports’ Excellence Festival

Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab said that in light of the activation of the university plan for students’ activities amid facing the 2nd wave of COVID-19 with taking all preventive and precautionary measures, today the events of the Egyptian universities sports festival under the slogan “Sports Excellence Festival 2020/2021” which was held from 6th -14th August 2020 were concluded. Prof. Ghallab added that the festival was held under the patronage of the minister of higher education and scientific research Prof. Khaled Abd Al Ghaffar, the minister of youth and sport Prof. Ashraf Sobhy, the director-general of the universities sports directorate Mr. Ahmed Abd Rabo, the director-general of Aswan University student’s welfare sector Mr. Hatem Yousry Yousef in addition to the director of sports’ activity administration Mr. Ahmed Taky Qasem. The event included several games (five-player soccer, volleyball, basketball, darts, 50m- Kayak, and recreational games). 432 students from 19 faculties and institutes took part in the festival. At the end of the sports event medals and monetary prizes were distributed to the 3 top winners.

Installation and Operation of Distance Diagnosis and Treatment Unit

In the framework of the State’s keenness on the citizen’s health and the ministry of higher education and scientific research’s full support to the university hospitals, Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed said that nowadays Aswan University is working on developing, reconstructing the university hospitals and linking it to the modern technology for raising all medical cadre and experiences to serve Aswan and Upper Egypt’s people. In the same context, the dean of the faculty of medicine Prof. Mohamed Zaki Al Dahshori added that in light of the development witnessed by Aswan university hospitals under the patronage of Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab who gives considerable care to fulfill the medical projects of the hospital’s medical constructions for promoting the health service and elevating the medical system. Aswan university hospital’s executive manager Dr. Ashraf Meeabed said that work is undergone in full swing in the different departments.  Distance Diagnosis and Treatment Unit was installed and operated under the patronage of President Abd Al Fattah Al Sisi in the hospital’s radiology departments for serving the patients.

Aswan University Organizes “United Against Corruption” Symposium in Cooperation with Administrative Control Authority

Today corresponding to 9th Dec. 2020, Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab witnessed the launch of the Running and Cycling Marathon organized by the Administrative Control Authority simultaneously with the International Anti-Corruption Day. The event was attended by the chairman of the Administrative Control Authority, Aswan branch  Maj. Gen. Ihab Al Bendary, the vice presidents of graduate studies and research and community service and environmental development Prof. Ayman Othman and Prof. Magdi Mohamed Ali respectively, the faculty of law’s vice dean and the coordinator of Aswan university’s anti-corruption secondary committee Dr. Ayman Abd Al Ghaffar, some vice faculty deans, youth and sport directorate, education directorate as well as a selected group of Aswan public and executive leaders.   Prof. Ghgallab said that the marathon is held under the slogan” United Against Corruption”, he stressed that Aswan is witnessing a clear anti-corruption movement. The university is still cooperating with all the State’s institutions and providing all educational and awareness services for elevating the Egyptian nation under the leadership of President Abd Al Fattah Al Sisi. He added that the university is completely ready to cooperate with the Administrative Control Authority in promoting and spreading the values of integrity and transparency. In the same context Maj. Gen. Ihab Al Bendary said that corruption is one of the most dangerous and nation-eradicating common negative phenomena. Bribe, favoritism, and the spread of unemployment, and drugs are the main themes of this rotten phenomenon. He confirmed at the significance of social engagement for facing corruption.   The chairman of the Administrative Control Authority, Aswan branch introduced an informative presentation on the authority, its aims, and the ways of contacting its officials. A documentary on Facing Corruption was introduced during the session then a conversation with the attendees was allowed for submitting questions or suggestions. At the end of the symposium, the University Sheild was granted to the chairman of Administrative Control Authority, Aswan branch, and the authority’s vice chairman then souvenir photos were taken.

Upper Egypt Radio Broadcasting Approves the Newly Installed Aswan University’s Speaking Clock

Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab declared that the newly installed speaking clock tower in the university headquarters in Sahary city will be launched by Upper Egypt radio soon imitating Cairo University’s Clock Tower. He added that the university headquarters in sahary city witnesses a surge in educational, construction and sports sectors. As for sports sector it has undergone significant developments among which establishing the University Stadium which can absorb 1000 spectators, establishing playgrounds complex for handball, volleyball and basket ball.  Swimming pool, playgrounds for beach ball, five-player football and tennis are being built.  In the same context, Prof. Ghallab said that in cooperation with Aswan university, the Arab Contractors’ Academy will be inaugurated this Thursday in the university headquarters in Sahary city. It will be opened in Aswan university stadium at 5 pm in light of the celebrations of 6 October victory.
