The Aswan University Council, in its meeting held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, headed by Prof.  Ayman Mahmoud Othman – Acting President of the University, expressed his sincere condolences and condolences to the families of the victims of the Sohag train accident, stressing that the leadership of Aswan University, faculty members, the administrative staff, and students are sincerely presenting Condolences to the families of the victims, wishing God Almighty to dwell in them in His spaciousness, to inspire their families with patience and solace, and to bless the injured with a speedy recovery. Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, Acting President of the University, and the University Council expressed their wishes for a speedy recovery to Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ghellab Muhammad, the former President of the University, and the continuation of health and wellness. The works of Council No. (104) were inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Ayman Mahmoud Othman – Acting President of the University, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Magdy Muhammad Ali, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Deans of Faculties and Advisors to the President of the University. Prof. Ayman Othman congratulated  Excellency Mr. Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi – President of the Republic, the State of the Council of Ministers, the Eminence of the Grand Imam, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, and Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, on the occasion of the approaching month of Ramadan. Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed, President of Aswan University, emphasized the remarkable development witnessed by university hospitals at Aswan University in light of the boom that the medical sector is witnessing at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research under the auspices of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the most important and latest findings of medical sciences at the level of The world of modern technologies and medical devices in the University Hospital in Aswan through the support of the Ministry and the Ministry’s University Hospitals Sector for University Hospitals in Aswan. Dr. Muhammad Zaki Dahshouri, Dean of the College of Medicine added that the medical system in university hospitals in Aswan is witnessing remarkable development under the auspices of Prof. Ahmed Ghalab Muhammad, President of the University, and that a number of surgeries were performed in the presence of doctors from different governorates in the Department of Urology, as these medical capabilities are only available in The University Hospital of Aswan, because of its capabilities and good modern equipment Especially the Department of Urology and Reproductive Medicine of Aswan, headed by Dr. Mohamed Mostafa, Head of the Department and Vice-Dean of the College of Medicine for Postgraduate Studies and Research, who today held the activities of the department’s monthly scientific day in the outpatient hall at the University Hospital in Aswan, which dealt with the new in flexible ureteroscopy and laser in the treatment of kidney stones. Whereas, these units and microscopy devices that characterize the University Hospital in Aswan, which are used in the largest micro-surgical operations carried out by the University Hospital in light of the availability of medical capabilities and human cadres of doctors and consultants at the University Hospital in Aswan. Dr. Ashraf Maabad, Executive Director of University Hospitals in Aswan, explained that the university hospital is witnessing a medical boom in the various departments of the hospital from the development and installation of the latest medical devices to provide the best distinguished medical service to serve the people of Aswan Governorate from its south to its north.

  Prof . Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed, President of Aswan University, was infected with the new Corona virus, and is currently undergoing treatment according to the Protocol to treat Corona according to the Ministry of Health and his condition is stable and through home isolation with all aspects of the necessary medical care. University employees, including university vice presidents, faculty deans, faculty members and their assistants, students and university hospital staff, expressed their sincere wishes for a speedy recovery to his sovereignty, praying to God Almighty to bless his sovereignty with health and complete wellness.

  Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed, President of Aswan University, announced that one of the most important recommendations of the International Forum for Sport Tourism – prospects and aspirations of (Aswan Ahla Initiative), which emerged from the womb of the presidential initiative, Sports National Security, that launched by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Republic and implemented by Aswan University through the Faculty of Physical Education. Dr. Ahmed Ghallab added that the International Forum witnessed the conclusion of its events in the attendance of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi-Minister of Youth and Sports. The forum was held under the patronage of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and Major General/ Ashraf Attia, Governor of Aswan. The forum was hosted by Aswan University and organized by the Faculty of Physical Education, and involved the most important recommendations about the announcing of holding the International Nile Championship of  in the 6th of the next October in Aswan Nile after hiatus continued for 25 years what reflects the joy of the athletes from the sons of this game in Aswan. The university formed a sports technical and scientific committee in cooperation with the Swimming Federation. To inspect the competition venues and measure the degree of water in the Nile River in Aswan, and that the University harnesses all its capabilities from Nile boats and other game tools that help the success of this race that the people of Aswan are eagerly waiting for. Eng. Yasser Idris, Chairman of the Swimming Federation and a member of the Board of Directors of the Olympic Committee, indicated that the establishment of the International Nile Swimming race in Aswan on the sixth of next October after a hiatus of nearly a quarter century, and that comes within the framework of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s initiative, “Sports is a National Security”, to confirm Egypt’s leadership on both levels (African and States).

The activities of the second employment forum kicked off today, Monday, under the patronage of Prof. Khaled Abdul Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research online, with the participation of the University Centers for Professional Development in cooperation with the American University and support from the United States Agency for Development for the year 2022. Prof.  Ahmed Ghalab Mohamed, President of Aswan University, participated in the meeting with 350 graduate students, including 5 students with visual and motor disabilities from Aswan University. Dr. Ahmed Ghallab confirmed that the total number of beneficiaries of the University Center for Career Development services since the center’s inauguration on January 16, 2020, has reached about 16,331 students and graduates, with the participation of 6 local companies from Aswan Governorate and 58 companies at the level of the Republic. Dr. Ahmed Ghallab, President of the University, expressed his happiness with the participation of Aswan University in the second employment forum. He also welcomed Dr. Ayman Ashour, Deputy Minister of Higher Education for University Affairs, Dr. Ashraf Hatem, the American University’s advisor and the presidents of the ten participating universities, stressing the importance of the role of the University Center for Professional Development and working on qualifying graduates and linking them to the market.
