First: general provisions
From Law (49) for the year 1972:
Article (171) Postgraduate studies (171) study courses and from the higher stage of study in the higher stage of the higher stage of study, the courses of study and its examination. One year, without prejudice to the provisions of Articles (177) and (178) of the exemption for interest from the university president after the Council of Graduate Studies based on the proposal of the College Council after taking the opinion of the department council, without prejudice to the provision of Article (36).
Article (174) Registration for postgraduate studies shall be on the dates in the internal regulations, and registration shall take place after a public opinion
Article (92) Granting the university councils, upon the proposal of the faculties’ councils, master’s and doctoral degrees according to the following:
〈A〉 Masters:
From the study and the descending area of the study proceeds and reading the results ends with a letter attached to the examination committee. It may not work with quality.
〈B〉 PhD:
You do pre-checks in order to wait.
Article (93) The internal regulations of the colleges indicate the dates of enrollment for postgraduate studies. Article (23) of the bylaws of the postgraduate studies of the College of Engineering stipulates that the master’s enrollment is in the month of October of each year.
Article (94) A graduate student may not register his name in studying more than one diploma or higher university degree at the same time, except with the approval of the Council of Graduate Studies and Research based on the proposal of the College Council and after taking the opinion of the relevant department councils. It is not permissible for teaching assistants or assistant teachers to register for a postgraduate study to obtain a university degree in other than their departments’ specialization except by a decision from the university president after the approval of the Graduate Studies Council based on the proposal of the College Council and after taking the opinion of the competent councils.
Article (95) The internal regulations of the faculties determine the examination system for postgraduate courses and the opportunities to apply for this examination.
Article (96) In the postgraduate examination, the student is estimated by one of the following:

Article (24), paragraph (2) of the internal regulations for graduate studies of the College of Engineering stipulates that the passing grades in the courses and in the general grade shall be calculated by one of the following estimates:
Article (97) The internal regulations of the faculties determine the registration procedures for the master’s and doctoral degrees and the period after which the registration will be forfeited, unless the faculty council decides to maintain the registration for another period to be determined by the decision of the supervisor.
Article (99) It is permissible for university presidents and their deputies to supervise master’s and doctoral theses exclusively if the registration is in the university in which they work. supervision before they take up their positions.
Article (102) The thesis supervisor submits at the end of each academic year a review report from the College Council. The Council of Graduate Studies and Research presented to the College Council – canceling the student in the light of these reports.
